Our Responsible Individual is Mrs. Rhona Dyer. Rhona is a qualified, experienced educational psychologist and teacher. As well as ensuring all aspects of our setting are based on current evidence around best practice, Rhona’s particular area of expertise with special needs ensures that the individual needs of all children are fully accommodated.

 

For those children with additional needs, Rhona is leading the introduction across the setting of new policies and procedures in line with the ALN Act 2018. We have always worked closely with local authorities, external professionals and parents to ensure that individual children’s needs are met and a noted strength within the setting is the extent to which we ascertain and implement the views of even our youngest children in our work. This best practice will continue.

Stephanie-Mayy began working at Red Balwn Coch in 2008, Stephanie-Mayy began working as a nursery nurse within the fluent Welsh unit and over the years progressed to become a senior nursery nurse, Operations manager and now Nursery Manager who is responsible for the running of the Nursery. Stephanie-Mayy is fluent Welsh speaking and holds an ILM4 in management and leadership as well as a Level  5 (manager) qualification in children’s  care, learning and development. Stephanie-Mayy also qualified as a Senior Play worker Level 3 in March 2016. Addititional training/qualifications: Safer recruitment, RIDDOR, Advanced Child Protection QCF Level 3, Language & Play OCN, Conflict Management, Equality and Diversity, Fire Warden, Health and Safety, Promoting positive behaviour and First aid at Work.

Chloe began as a student at Red Balwn Coch and was then employed as a nursery nurse within our fluent Welsh toddler room back in 2012. Chloe then progressed to a senior nursery nurse and now the operations manager of the nursery. Chloe has a Level 3 in child care and education as well as an ILM2 in management and leadership. Chloe also qualified as a Senior Play worker Level 3 in March 2016.  

 

Addititional training/qualifications: Fire warden, Conflict Management, Health and safety, Working with babies.

Staff qualifications

Our nursery nurses either have attained a Level 3 qualification in child care prior to taking up their post or are required, and supported, to progress towards this.

All staff receive a detailed induction programme and on-going professional development thereafter. Staff receive both ‘in-house’ and external training in a number of areas with all of the child care team undertaking compulsory training in child protection, first aid,  food hygiene and health and safety. All staff receive regular supervision and appraisals and are encouraged to develop particular areas of interest and expertise.

Dechreuodd Stephanie-Mayy weithio yn Red Balwn Coch yn 2008, dechreuodd weithio fel nyrs feithrin o fewn yr uned Gymraeg a thros y blynyddoedd symud ymlaen i fod yn uwch nyrs feithrin, rheolwr Gweithrediadau ac yn awr Rheolwr Meithrin sy'n gyfrifol am redeg o'r Feithrinfa. Mae Stephanie-Mayy yn rhugl yn siarad Cymraeg ac yn meddu ar ILM4 mewn rheolaeth ac arweinyddiaeth yn ogystal â chymhwyster Lefel 5 (rheolwr) mewn gofal, dysgu a datblygiad plant. Fe symudodd Chloe ymlaen i uwch nyrs meithrin ac yn awr yn rheolwr gweithrediadau'r feithrinfa. Mae gan Chloe Lefel 3 mewn gofal ac addysg plant yn ogystal ag ILM2 mewn rheolaeth ac arweinyddiaeth. Roedd Chloe hefyd wedi cymhwyso fel gweithiwr Chwarae Uwch Lefel 3 ym mis Mawrth 2016.
